Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, accounting for approximately 60-80% of all cases. It primarily affects older adults, although it can occur in younger individuals as well. The disease progresses over time, leading to the accumulation of abnormal proteins in the brain, such as beta-amyloid plaques and tau tangles.
