Major lower limb amputations (LLA) are mostly performed due to advanced peripheral vascular disease and/or complications from diabetes mellitus [Citation1]. People scheduled for a dysvascular LLA are generally over the age of 60 years and have multimorbidity, with increased risks for adverse outcomes.
